Description

A cozy smallness lingers in Port Washington, even as it inches towards modernity. The steeple of St. Mary’s still breeches the skyline amidst the multistory apartments creeping up the shore, and fishermen seek their fill, unbothered. Bike trails cut through open fields under the power plant’s commanding silhouette, and a quick trot past the water treatment plant brings you to the beach on the opposite side. Still, this patchwork maintains a sort of continuity, with its distinct character stitched onto my heart.
